Gillespie Glad to Be Back With D-backs

Ziegler Continues to Impress on the Mound

D-backs reliever Brad Ziegler continued his strong pitching with another scoreless inning of work in Friday’s 2-0 loss in San Diego. Over his last 13 games, dating back to August 20 in Atlanta, the right-hander hasn’t given up a run and has only surrendered two hits over that span, while racking up eight strikeouts. (more…)

As David Dellucci returned to Chase Field for World Championship Reunion weekend, the memories of the magical 2001 season started to come back. The 13-year Major League veteran was an outfielder on the Arizona squad that won it all that season.

Overbay Walk Wins It for D-backs

Lyle Overbay received an invitation to the D-backs’ World Championship Reunion Weekend at Chase Field.

After all, the first baseman was a rookie during Arizona’s magical 2001 World Series title run. However, Overbay didn’t expect to actually attend the festivities this September. (more…)

Johnson attends World Championship Reunion

It was a rousing scene that’s forever etched in the minds of thousands of D-backs fans.

The left field bullpen gate swung open and out walked Randy Johnson. The Big Unit began a slow trot to the mound in the seventh game of the 2001 World Series, just one day after pitching his team to a 15-2 win in Game Six.

Schilling Joins Mates for 2001 D-backs Reunion

On any other team, he was a clear-cut No. 1 hurler, but on the D-backs’ 2001 World Championship team, he was one half of one of baseball’s all-time great pitching tandems.

Curt Schilling made his return to a sold-out Chase Field Saturday for the D-backs’ World Championship Reunion Weekend, joining a plethora of teammates from the 2001 roster who came back to the site of their biggest collective baseball accomplishment. (more…)

Outfielder Gerardo Parra’s name has been penciled into several different spots in the D-backs’ starting lineup throughout the 2011 season. The left-handed hitter has hit eighth, seventh, and toward the top of the order at second and leadoff.

Kennedy pitches D-backs past Padres

The 21,000-plus fans at Chase Field rose to their feet and applauded their starting pitcher.

Ian Kennedy walked off the mound to a standing ovation after yet another stellar pitching performance on Thursday night. The right-hander headed into Thursday night’s series opener against the Padres with a standout 18-4 record and a 2.96 ERA.
