The past two seasons had been forgettable ones for the D-backs, with Arizona sputtering to consecutive last places finishes in 2009 and ‘10. They fell victim to high strikeout totals and a lackluster bullpen, with the postseason being a distant thought.
Things have taken a drastic change in 2011.

Ziegler Continues to Impress on the Mound

D-backs reliever Brad Ziegler continued his strong pitching with another scoreless inning of work in Friday’s 2-0 loss in San Diego. Over his last 13 games, dating back to August 20 in Atlanta, the right-hander hasn’t given up a run and has only surrendered two hits over that span, while racking up eight strikeouts. Ziegler adjusting to life in Arizona

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind for Brad Ziegler.
The former Oakland right-hander was traded from the Bay Area to Arizona on July 31, after three-plus seasons with the Athletics as a key piece of their bullpen arsenal. He tallied a 2.49 ERA in 223 career appearances for the A’s.
